CT Scan

Computed tomography (CT) scan is a diagnostic tool for detecting diseases and injuries. It uses a series of X-rays and a computer to produce a 3D image of soft tissues and bones. CT is a painless, non-invasive way for your healthcare provider to diagnose conditions.

As an ACR accredited facility, we meet the highest standards of professionalism and customer courtesy available. Our facility has spared no expense in accommodating patients with the best available technology and the transparency required to ensure each patient observes the best the medical field has to offer. CAT/CT Scan Preparation and ProceduresOur Cat Scan equipment is state-of-the-art technology. Our machine has a large opening that can accommodate patients up to 350 pounds. When having a CT exam done at our facility, we will explain the procedure step by step to make for an efficient and comfortable experience. Compared to MRI, CT scans are fairly short.

What does a Cat Scan (CT) exam do?

A CT exam combines high-quality and specialized x-ray equipment with specialized computer technology to produce a series of images (pictures) of the inside of the body. Each cross-sectional image can be sliced further to be examined and read by a radiologist.

Contrast material for CT exams comes in two formats. There is an injectible IV contrast and an oral contrast. Both types of contrast enhance the images of the body part being taken to provide greater detail to the reading radiologist. All exams may be performed with contrast, with & without contrast, and no contrast as requested by your doctor.

A CT exam combines high-quality x-ray images taken in three dimensions. It then uses specialized computer processing to produce a series of images of the inside of the body. Each cross-sectional image can be sliced further to be examined and read by a radiologist. Usually, doctors request a CT exam to observe internal organs, bones, blood vessels, and soft tissue. CT offers better image quality compared to an x-ray exam and can provide a faster diagnosis of emergent situations.
